Gertrude Coffee is a roastery and a point of view. We've stopped trying to separate the two.

We make coffee worth paying attention to. However you're drinking it. Whether you're dialing in a pour over at six in the morning or adding milk to a chipped mug at noon, that's your business. Ours is making sure whatever's in that mug earned its place there.

We source with the same obsession. Micro lots, rare processing methods, producer relationships built over time. Coffees that reframe what you thought the cup could be. We go looking so you don't have to.

There are people behind this. Someone who came up in Melbourne, trained in the kind of cafes where the standards are non-negotiable and the feedback is immediate. Someone who came back to the Midwest with something to prove. Between the two, an ocean crossed and a signal found its frequency.

We're looking for people already tuned to the same frequency.

The signal started in the southern hemisphere. It's broadcasting from here now. We have a feeling it carries further than that.
